How do I join?

Any individual interested in joining can drop in for up to two free practices. Please be sure to contact us to make arrangements or check our Schedule page for the next practice.

Can an individual join or do you need an entire team to join?

An individual or group can join a team.

How much experience do I need to join?

None. We welcome all levels of paddlers from brand new to experienced. We have all-women teams, all-men teams, senior, youth, recreational to competitive...chances are, there is a spot for you in the EDBRC!

How much does it cost?

The annual fee to be a member of the club for 2011 is $195. This includes unlimited practice time, coaching, boat and equipment use. Additional costs vary depending on participation in festivals and special events, which vary from team to team. The drop in fee is $10 per visit.

Where are the practices?

Our club house is a brown brick, white, and blue building located next to Dawson Park at 10298 87 Street, Edmonton, AB. See our Contact Us page for additional details.

When are practices?

Practices are generally evenings and weekends, from May to September. See our Schedule page for exact times.

What should I wear?

Dragon boat racing is a water sport and some splashing should be expected! Runners or sandals, are typical footwear worn in the boat and fast drying shorts and shirts are preferable.

What should I bring?

Water bottle (no glass bottles), sun screen, mosquito repellent and a desire for fun!

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Nope. The EDBRC will supply all boats and equipment including paddles and PFDs; however, if you have an approved paddle or PFD of your own, you are welcome to use it.
